Washington, D.C. July 2, 2001 - Curt S. Culver, president and chief executive officer of MGIC Investment Corporation and its principal subsidiary, Mortgage Guaranty Insurance Corporation (MGIC), has been tapped to lead the Mortgage Insurance Companies of America (MICA).Culver succeeds Frank P. "I welcome the opportunity to serve as MICA's president," said Culver. "Not only does the PrivateMI industry make it possible for families to buy their first home sooner and for less money down, we are also very much involved in helping borrowers if they happen to hit a rough patch in their financial life. Over the years we have helped thousands of homeowners avoid foreclosure and protect their credit rating."

Serving alongside Culver as MICA officers will be W. Nutt, Jr., president and chief executive officer of United Guaranty Corporation, who will serve as MICA's Secretary/Treasurer.

Nutt's career has spanned 23 years and he is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and its Executive Program at the Kenan-Flagler School of Business.
MICA is the trade association representing the private mortgage insurance industry.
